Custom Actuation Sales LLC - New Rotork Actuators and Replacement Parts
Our product offering includes:
Electric Actuators
IQ Actuator:
- IQ - The second generation of intelligent, non-intrusive, user friendly, electric valve actuators.
- IQ - Industry standard since 1993, now further improved with 'system on a chip' technologies.
- Rugged, re-styled double sealed enclosure, impervious to the most demanding environments.
- Rotork Lifetime Care facility provides real-time, on-line troubleshooting, irrespective of global location.
- Secure 'point and shoot' commissioning and interrogation, with or without mains power.
- Seamless interface with Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus, Modbus and Rotork Pakscan.
- Suitable for industrial valves of virtually every size and description.
- Modulating version IQM specification is generally the same as that of the type IQ, but with a solid state reversing starter in place of the electro-mechanical contactors, suitably rated 4-pole winding low inertia motor and with the ‘hammerblow’ backlash omitted from the output gear train. The IQM is suitable for up to 1200 starts per hour with a duty in accordance with IEC 34-1 to S4 50%.
A Range Actuator:
Rotork ‘A’ Range Syncroset Actuators are Particularly Suitable for:
- Applications where actuators with separated mounted starters would be preferable. For example, where there are high levels of vibration, high ambient temperatures or where accessibility to the motor operated valve is limited after installation.
- Installations where traditional electro-mechanical integral controls are preferred for the continuity of house specifications.
- Sites using DC or single phase power supplies.
- Failsafe operation by pneumatic or battery power.
For most 3 phase applications the Rotork ‘IQ’ actuator provides the best combination of economy and performance for the motorization of valves and dampers.

Network Control – Two Wire
Overview of PAKSCAN 2 Wire Communication System:
The Pakscan 2 wire communication system, provides the vital link between valve actuator and supervisory control. It is an intelligent, reliable, high integrity, fast and easy to install network, between field equipment and control or equipment room. It is specially designed for use with Rotork Actuation products.
The actuators are connected by a single fault tolerant 2 wire twisted pair digital network to the Pakscan master station. The plug and play system ensures rapid commissioning of plant and easy to install Modbus communications to the host system.
All Pakscan systems are inherently fault tolerant to any kind of cable failure and Pakscan IIE systems can even include redundant system controllers and host comms links.
The latest in host communications is provided by the Pakscan Ethernet master station where direct Ethernet connectivity is available using Modbus TCP and a Local Area Network. The Embedded Web Server provides a browsable connection to the actuators for diagnostics and control without the need for special software.
PAKSCAN features:
- Fault tolerant 2 wire field network
- Up to 240 actuators on a single field loop
- Cable distances of up to 20km without repeaters
- High security communications
- Proven communications to all major DCS and PLC vendors
- Direct savings in engineering and communications costs
PAKSCAN applications:
- Gas and oil platforms
- Refinery installations
- Product storage
- Sewage treatment works
- Water works
- Power plants
